As the January window heats up and clubs look to bolster their squads, it is only natural that some of the Cherries star players are linked with moves elsewhere.

With Bournemouth currently in a battle for European qualification it is vital they can keep hold of their most important assets.

Cherries sign South American talent – Doubts over left backs future?

The Cherries have been busy already in the transfer market signing Julio Soler from Lanus - for a fee of around £6.7 million. An exciting yet also concerning addition to the squad, considering how up in the air the future of Milos Kerkez is.

Milos Kerkez has been heavily linked with multiple European giants such as the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United (BBC Sport)

With Robertson falling out of favour at Anfield and United in turmoil, the acquisition of Kerkez is needed for both teams. When clubs like these come knocking it will be hard for Bournemouth to keep hold of him.

Bournemouth will feel they need to keep Kerkez until at least the end of the season with a summer switch to either big six club being harder to reject.

The Cherries will have to stick a huge price tag on one of their best assets to keep him around. Currently, Iraola seems confident they will not lose him during the January window.

Newcastle eyeing double-raid?

Newcastle United are also monitoring potential moves for both Antoine Semenyo as well as Illia Zabarnyi (Matt Hewitt). Both are unlikely to leave this winter though - with the summer window being far more likely for a sale.

Tottenham are also reportedly interested in Semenyo - Postecoglou rates him highly. Illia Zabarnyi has also been linked with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City in recent times, both sides are monitoring closely.

Seagulls striker set for switch?

Bournemouth are also reportedly interested in Brighton forward Evan Ferguson (TEAMtalk) after the recent injury of Evanilson who is set for surgery after breaking his foot.

The Brighton forward has seen little action this season with most of his outings being off the bench, due to the success of Joao Pedro and Danny Welbeck respectively.

However, if Bournemouth can utilise him correctly, his form may be revitalised. This signing could be fantastic business, as well as a statement to the clubs surrounding.

With Enes Unal also out for the season after tearing his knee, its crucial the Cherries can bring in some fresh attacking threat - Iraola has confirmed that the Cherries are looking at the loan market for a replacement.

Loan agreed for Cherries hero

Italian giants Napoli are closing in on a loan deal for Phillip Billing until the end of the season with a non-mandatory buy clause included (Fabrizio Romano). A deal has been agreed between the two clubs and the switch is imminent. The Dane has been at the Vitality since 2019 and has been incredibly important in recent years. The Cherries faithful will miss him, good luck to Phillip in Italy.

MLS talent arriving soon

Bournemouth have reportedly struck a deal with DC United to sign upcoming talent Matai Akinmboni for a fee of £1 million as well as future performance related add-ons. The 18-year-old centre back could prove a quality addition for the future with 17 MLS appearances amassed already.

Valencia near complete Aarons loan

Max Aarons has reportedly been given permission to leave Bournemouth this window with several clubs across Europe’s top divisions interested. Among these clubs are Valencia, they are looking to bring him in to Spain immediately - Alex Crook has claimed that there is a 6 month loan agreed already with a loan-to-buy clause reportedly set at £7.5 million.

Overall, this window will prove vital for Bournemouth’s success this season, if the right players are brought in, their European hopes may even come true. But with top clubs’ intent on signing the Cherries star players, it may be a hard ask.
